Our story in a few words
Where does this project stem from?
In November 2023 partners from Croatia and Serbia recognized enduring consequences from the 30-year-old Croatia-Serbia war. Those consequences are social exclusion, discrimination, hate speech, violence and social polarization in both countries, which are especially emphasized in pre-election periods. We were truly convinced that they occur because post-conflict or peace education among people after the conflicts wasn’t promoted or provided enough and that youngsters are very intoxicated by this kind of political or media speech. Within our need analyses we found that Spain and Cyprus are the most suitable to join this consortium as there are separation tendencies in Basque and Catalonia threatening national peace in Spain, while Cyprus is the only EU country that still has a divided capital, 50
years after the start of the conflict.
The core issue that we are addressing is conflict, which can turn into a war, where media narratives contribute to an atmosphere of fear and tension and finally, without appropriate and well-timed peace-building activities, results in prolonged conflicts within and between countries.
Aware of all of the above, and at the same time of their limits, 4 different organizations connected in order to strengthen the capacities for implementing innovative peace education with joint forces, develop a new methodology and increase the quality of our youth work.
We foresee the development of 4 outputs. The project goes beyond traditional learning to address critical socio-political
issues, equipping pax with conflict prevention, critical thinking and communication skills, improved engagement of youth, development of inclusive and sustainable OERs, and broader adoption of innovative peace education methodologies. We anticipate contributing to the promotion of democratic values, social cohesion, and the prevention of radicalization in Europe
and beyond.
The project will implement Participatory Action Research to gather insights on youth perspectives regarding violence
incidence, attitudes towards marginalized groups, and solutions for positive change. This will be followed by the development of 8 interactive educational Escape Rooms with digital elements such as 360-degree video and Augmented Reality. OERs will be created in 6 languages to facilitate widespread access. Peer-to-peer mobilities, Training of Trainers, e-learning and dissemination will further enhance the impact.
The project started in February 2025 and it will last until end of September 2026.

Objectives
Core of the common values that underpin Europe are commitment to peace, democracy, and the well-being of its citizens.
Our project goes beyond simply promoting those values, it equips Youth and Youth Practitioners (YPs) with vital skills for conflict resolution and meaningful social engagement on peace building.
Our primary objective is to raise awareness of the value and importance of innovative peace education as a form of civic
engagement and as a tool that promotes common values, prevents radicalization and combats social polarization.
The project will strengthen the capacities of the organizations involved through creating innovative OERs. It aims to engage and empower 181 youth with conflict resolution skills through game-based educational resources and to increase the quality of youth work by equipping 130 youth practitioners with new skills, approaches and tools.
