Erasmiau Youth Association

ERASMIAU was born from the hand of three people who, united by sharing interest about traveling and getting to know other cultures, decided to join their paths in a common project. This idea got materialized with the creation of ERASMIAU, a youth association whose main objective is to offer youth the access towards interculturality and the experience of discovering the world. Mainly, ERASMIAU seeks to connect the concept of culture, adventurous spirit and curiosity with the features of the new generations.
The ERASMIAU association lands in Puente Genil (Córdoba) and does so in tune with Association Mesa Local de la Juventud (active since 2007). In fact, two of the members of the ERASMIAU team are active collaborators, partners and part of the Board of Directors of said association since October 2021. Having acted as facilitators and coordinators in that association has given our team the possibility of being in contact with youth work.
Among the work carried out with youth in collaboration with Mesa Local, we must highlight the production and implementation of Summer Youth 2022. A local project aimed for young people between 14-30 years old that began in December 2021 and ended in August 2022. The ERASMIAU team has been in direct collaboration during both phases, facilitating the meetings and coordinating the different tasks to be carried out by the young people. The project has managed to reach more than 300 young people who have enjoyed a total of five leisure-related activities and six training workshops. The most attractive aspect of this project has been being able to offer young people the opportunity to express their tastes and preferences when launching proposals. The democratic process and the non-formal education methodology are essential characteristics for the proper functioning of this project. The presence of our team throughout this process has allowed us to learn and receive positive feedback that has motivated us to continue discovering and advancing within the area of youth work.
Want to join our network?
One of the goals of our project is to create a long-lasting network of individuals, organizations and institutions that will stay dedicated to promoting peace and democratic values through youth work and other approaches; especially by using our outputs, such as PAR methodology in research and educational escape rooms. We invite you to become a vital part of our growing community.
